July Workout Schedule

FroBunni | July Workout Schedule
Wow, it's almost July? Where is the time going? Well, I've got good news, my July workout schedule is ready. I decided to take a different direction this month, and get some really good cardio in. Lots of running, and what I call a "Tri-Cardio" workout. I will explain in a blog post tomorrow (dedicated to my good friend, Jenny), but it focuses on three "different" kinds of cardio.

Now of course, cardio is cardio, but I wanted to incorporate my HIT exercises within a longer workout. 30 minutes of HIT isn't really feasible (think 30 minutes of tuck jumps...yeah, I know). Instead, I scatter the HIT exercises throughout the 30 minutes. The other "form" of cardio is your low-intensity cardio. For me personally, it will focus on abs and butt; exercises like squats and bicycle crunches that aren't as high intensity, but are still cardio. And finally, cardio that incorporates weights. It sounds crazy, but trust me, it isn't. Completed in an interval style, I will break everything down so it's easy to follow.

And of course, I'm still doing yoga. This month, I will be focusing on a lot of strength poses. I really want to learn how to do a handstand and forearm stand. It's hard, but with consistent practice, I know I can do it.

Let me know what you think or what's your July workout schedule!

Staying Motivated to Workout

FroBunni | Yoga
Yoga helps motivate me to stay healthy, eat right, and workout.

Staying motivated to work out has been a consistent problem for me. Sometimes I’m too tired, other times I barely have time. And there are even days when I “just don’t feel like it.” One of the ways I avoid this is by creating my own workouts, where I am able to determine what I will be doing, the intensity, and the duration. So some days, my workouts are really short, while other days, they’re long.

I also stay motivated by staying calm. Yoga is one of my favorite forms of exercise, and even better, it helps to reduce stress. When I am less stressed, I am more likely to workout.

I do a lot of tabata and HIT workouts, and due to their intensity, it’s also important that I have a good diet. Before I workout, if I haven’t eaten at least 2 hours prior, I like to eat a banana or apple with some almond butter. During my workout, I keep some water by my side. If I get exhausted, I take a few moments to catch my breathe, take a sip of water, and keep going. And afterwards, I either eat a healthy meal or have a protein shake to help replenish my energy.

If you find that you have difficulty staying motivated to workout, there are ways to help. Whether it's
keeping a fitness inspired motivation board, taking a pre-workout supplement like Uncaged 2.5 Pre-Workout Energy from ETBFit, a sports nutrition-based lifestyle business, providing clean and lean supplements to fuel your fitness, or getting a jump on the day and doing your workouts in the morning, there are plenty of ways to stay encouraged and stick to your fitness goals!

To Hip Length or Bust

To Hip Length or Bust | FroBunni

Last week, I officially decided to get serious about growing my natural hair to hip length, even if that meant that I would torture myself and wear protective styles 5 days out of the week. Last Tuesday, I trimmed my hair, washed, conditioned, and put my hair in about 80 two-strand twists...then put it up in a bun for 7 days.

It's been difficult to say the least. I don't know if it's because I'm a leo or just love wearing my hair out, but wearing my hair in twists, knowing that this will be how I plan to wear my hair most of the time (or at least until I get to hip length), has been difficult to say the least. My twists don't last that long, even with gel. They start to look really frizzy; to prevent this, I may make fewer twists so that I can redo them.

I will be taking this seriously til the end of the summer, but I am hoping to gain at least two inches by September. I am allowing myself to wear roller set or flexi rod sets, but I can't redo them more than every 3 days, so this will require setting lotion and gel to attain this.

I am pretty excited to see if I will gain any length, and this will force me to be creative. My starting stats are below, this was after I trimmed. So wish me luck, I will need to stick to this, lol.

Back - 20 inches
Middle - 21 inches
Front - 17 inches
(L) Side - 18 inches
(R) Side 18 inches

I'm on Instagram!

My username is frobunnni.

Guess what...I'm on Instagram. I know, it took me forever. I started this blog over 2 years ago, and I am just getting an Instagram. So far, so good, but I'm not liking the fact that everything has to be a square (-_-). But that's ok, I will make it work! So follow me on Instagram!

Date Night | Natural Hair, Makeup and Dress

FroBunni | natural hair date night, makeup, and dress
You guessed it, NYX pretty much made this look. I think the only thing that wasn't was the cacao powder foundation, eyebrow pencil, and lip liner.

Last weekend, I had a date night, and I was just loving my natural hair, makeup, and dress. For all the handwork I was putting in with my makeup, I really felt like all of it was worth it. My makeup only took 10 minutes. And I nailed the highlighting, and creating the winged eyeliner was a breeze.

FroBunni | MissGuided dress
I already have plans to wear this dress for an event I have in fall.

My dress and hair were also on point (although my hair poufed up after I got outside due to the humidity). For my hair, I just did two flat twists and bantu knotted the ends (I'll do an official tutorial in the next couple of days). I really liked it, and it is a great natural hair date night hairstyle. I did a review on this MissGuided dress a week ago, and I really do love it. It's sexy but still classy, and isn't too over the top in the skin baring department (which I don't mind, but I wasn't going for that look).

All in all, it was a wonderful night!

Meal Plan of the Week | Mixed Fruit, Carbonara, Citrus, and Caesar Salad

Caesar Salad with Salmon

I bought a bunch of bikinis (by a bunch, I mean 2) last week, plus I have plans to go to the beach in July, so my diet is going to be pretty healthy for the month of June. And of course, by healthy, I mean "normal" healthy (you've already been through my no-sugar diet and pescetarian diet...I already know those won't last for long, lol). So I am keeping it simple with healthy foods I love, getting lots of fruits and veggies, and balancing out each meal with some carbs, protein, and fat. Hopefully, this coupled with my June workout plan can really tone me up in time for my vacation!
