I love desserts, but I don't like to keep them in my apartment (I may binge on them). But it's no fun to want a sweet treat and not have any options, which is why I make dessert smoothies!
A healthy, sweet treat, dessert smoothies are also great meal replacements with whole grains, protein, and fruits or vegetables. I often make them for breakfast, or have them for dinner if I'm not in the mood to cook.
They're easy to make; just chop up the fruit or vegetable, add all the ingredients into a blender, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
Apple Pie: 1/2 cup of oats, 1 cup of milk, 1 apple, 1 tsp of cinnamon
Cherry Tart: 1/4 cup of whole wheat flour, 1 cup of almond milk, 1/2 cup of cherries, 1 tsp of vanilla extract
Chocolate Fudge: 1/4 cup of ground flaxseed, 3/4 cup of yogurt, 1/2 cup of dates, 1/8 cup of cacao powder
Peanut Butter Lovers: 1/2 cup of whole grain cereal, 2 tbsp of peanut butter, 1 banana, 1/2 tsp of almond oil
Pumpkin Spice: 2 tbsp of chia seeds, 1 cup of silken tofu, 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin, 2 tsp of pumpkin spice
